Welcome to our first issue of 2014!

As the biggest issue of the year, I think it’s safe to say this has been one of the most hectic but exciting to produce. We’ve put the darkest days of winter behind us to bring you everything the new spring wedding season has to offer, and to kick off the new year we’re going all out with our pick of the top 100 venues in the UK. From eco boltholes to sleek city hotels, and everything in between, if you’re still looking for your setting, we've found it!

Fresh colour, it seems, will be the hottest trend for 2014. Whether teamed with elegant metallics as shown in our She’s Electric and Modern Romance stories or as an eye-popping
accent hue there’s a way to make the look work for you.

The team and I have noticed the best weddings of late have been memorable for their creative and personal spin on tradition, from DIY details to skipping the formalities altogether, and what we love most about Wedding readers is you’re never afraid to buck the trend. Be inspired by our real-life brides’ stories and, if you’re one of the many couples combining your cultures in a fusion wedding, be sure to check out our One Love feature.

Finally, fashion stylist Claire Ridley has been reporting from the front row to bring you the newest bridal dress trends of the season. If you want to discover some runway inspiration of your own, head to The National Wedding Show this spring. For £35, VIP tickets will see you receive a glass of fizz and beauty box packed with goodies, reserved seating at the catwalk show, access to the VIP lounge and fast-track entry, so why not make a day of it with the girls? We’ll be there too, so come and say hello!
